Why is a 7-degree beam angle important for a dive flashlight?
A tight 7-degree beam is essential for cutting through water that has high particulate matter (sediment, algae). A wide beam will reflect off these particles, creating a blinding "backscatter". Can I use the Bludive BD20 as a primary dive light?

How should I maintain the O-rings on my underwater torch?
After every dive, you must rinse your flashlight in fresh water to remove salt crystals. Before your next dive trip, inspect the O-rings (the BD20 includes 3 spare O-rings). If they look dry, apply a very light coating of silicone grease to maintain the 150-meter waterproof seal. Do not over-grease, as this can attract sand.
What does Reverse Polarity Protection mean?
When you are gearing up on a rocking boat in low light, it's easy to accidentally insert a battery upside down. The BD20 features Reverse Polarity Protection, an electronic failsafe that prevents a short circuit and protects the flashlight's internal circuitry if the battery is installed incorrectly.
